About

We have been in business, right here in beautiful Dixon, since June 1956. The dealership was started by Charles McGimsey in the early 1920′s. He sold it in the 50′s and then it was sold again a short time later.  Finally, Ron DuPratt came to town, armed with an SBA loan and purchased the business.  The original store was right downtown, next to what is currently Bud’s Restaurant. Part of the old building still exists, housing Norm’s Sign Service, but the rest of it burned in the 60′s.  Ron moved the dealership out to the current location in 1961, among the corn and tomato fields.  He worried that he was too far from town but it proved to be the right location for plenty of expansion. The facilities have had a number of expansions over the years, culminating with a major renovation in 1998. Outgrowing the facility again, we added the freeway showroom in 2003. We attribute our success over the years to our owner’s philosophy of “What is good for our customers, will be good for our dealership, in the long run”.
